The group had performed it’s “JG Ballard night” around the videos and live soundtrack for Ballard’s “ The Atrocity Exhibition” and also had the chance to do a set live on Resonance FM with host Jonny Mugwump.

Encouraged by Jonny’s enthusiasm we were excited to bring our music to the UK for the first time. Jamming loud in the control room of the station we felt the vibe of great early post-punk and recent experimental sounds that have filtered thru the London club and dj scene and taken the world by storm.
By the time we returned in April, we could play for Jonny’s “Exotic Pylon” night at the Vortex Club in Dalston…
Jonny put together a cool bill with Rocket Number Nine, and the venue was full when we arrived after finding the Chinese restaurant down the street. There we found Anne, Josie and friends already in attendance.

Super chill atmosphere in and around the club, that reminded us of the early days of the downtown NY music scene. Everyone excited to be taken for a ride, scope out some new musical territory as we push the sounds deep into the urban night.
Our London days and nights filled with ‘Record label nights’ crowds at the Shoreditch Rough Trade shop, Ai Wei Wei’s show at the Tate Modern,

Indian food dinners,
Wim Wender’s photo show at Haunch Of Venison, the flower market and that elevator up the Shoredtich House as Matt Woebot’s guest.
Having wandered endlessly around the side streets we finally get the chance to see it all make sense from above.

Stunning. Wished we had brought bathing suits to refresh in the sparkling swimming pool.

But we enjoy some great food and cool pints.

Currently o13 is completing work on a 12” for Turin’s Opilec Records. The sequence driven “Lost Pavilion” had been used for the soundtrack for the KT Auleta directed fashion video for Nowness.com, but this time we’ve multi – tracked it and got James Lo( x- Live Skull ) in on supra drums.
Here’s that original fashion vid.

Sorry to have missed Patti Smith live in Battery Park on a classic summer evening. Heard she was inspired by the scene. Crowds lined up in the afternoon sunlight, surrounded by the Hudson. But like London, there is always so much happening stuff going on in NYC that you can’t possibly see it all. Both cities continue to burn, and kick out the jams.
thanks Anne!
