I have such a treat in store for you today! Guys, if you have not watched La Boum, you need to... have to. Just Do It.
La Boum... Sigh. The teen french dream.
This short and sweet title translates to; The Party.
Filmed in 1980, this cult teen flick covers growing up in France's capital.
13 year old Vic is the new girl at school but quickly makes friends with Penelope. They’re boy mad and looking for love, but Vic's parents won't allow her to attend the party (Gasp! Horror!)....
Think:
"My life is over!"
"I will NEVER get over him..."
"I HATE YOU!"
"How could you do this to me."
"I need a minute... Alone."
"Sniff, sniff... Sigh"
Once you have sobbed, melted, sighed and worked your way through a range of hysterics you can start all over again, avec:
La Boum 2
A sequel that matches the brilliance of its original.
The following clip/trailer provides an accurate sense of what's in store:
I remember watching this for the first time with my French cousins when I was about 10 years old and the whole thing marked me massively.
The film focuses on Vic (played by Sophie Marceau) a head strong and passionate lady.
I salute you teen icon:

Then there is the handsome heart-throb; Mathieu... Gush.
TueNsday
The reason behind my reminiscing on this fab French classic is; Today is TueNsday! The following Richard Sanderson (Who?) song "Reality" is a song that features throughout the movie and captures its essence perfectly.
Chic Vic
From a younger girl's perspective, this petite parisienne was about as cool as it got. Beautiful, stylish and confident.
Here are some looks I have put together for a modern day Vic. Note there are only 2 pairs of shoes and no accessories. That's the way she would roll, I am sure of it!
