Meet: K P Fusion

Hey there your royal gorgeousness-ess! Hope the weekend was fab and your all geared up pour la week ahead... Ohh it's just so exhausting all this doing "stuff" wouldn't it be lovely to lie on a beach all day with a coffee (iced) in one hand, book in the other and maybe the odd shower of cash, cash, dollar bills pouring from the sky. Just the odd burst or two...

- On to the real stuff.

I am very happy to be hosting a little interview with a fab and friendly fashion blogger from the U... S of A. Not only is this girl from the land of opportunity but she is also born and raised in Elvis land... Sigh and gush.

I got to know the lovely Kim whilst tweeting along and have grown very fond of her and her "fash" platform, so I think YOU should get to know her too. I have put together a list of questions in true "Satirical" style... Une petite introduction. Where would be your dream place to live?

New York. There’s so much culture in that city.

What made you decide to start a blog?

I needed an outlet. Our fashion industry in Memphis is extremely small, so I needed a creative way to express my ideas and to find my writing voice before I started pitching to publications. I’ve been blogging since 2007 (I had posts on MySpace and then a personal/relationship blog) but I didn’t start to take it seriously until I launched KP Fusion in Sept 2010. It took me a moment to get to this place but it’s true when they say that you should try to make a career doing things that you love. I’ve been obsessed with magazines and books since I was little and have always loved to write but never thought I could have a career doing it. That changed in 2007 with school and conversations with friends.

How long does it take you to get ready in the morning?

Usually between 30-45 minutes.

Name an item of clothing that would put you into a state – of – horror if you were FORCED to wear it. I’m talking out of the house… To work, meeting with friends on a date…

OMG if I had to wear mom jeans from the 80s (the ones that were tapered but relaxed and loose through the hips and thighs) I’d die lol.

5 items that MUST be in your handbag AT ALL TIMES?

Gum, lip-gloss, cellphone, a compact, and my camera.

Favorite item of clothing this Autumn/Winter so far?

I have 2: a mustard scarf I got from Target (seriously, it goes with everything!) and a Kelly green cardigan I got from Old Navy recently. Fun, fun colors.

Do you have any siblings? Where do you fit in your fam?

I have 2 older brothers. Although I’m the baby, I sometimes feel (and act) like the oldest lol.

What has been your most tragic celeb boy-crush to date?

Ryan Gosling. He is perfection.

If you were an animal what would you be?

A cat. It’s funny – I’ve been told on more than one occasion that I have “cat eyes”. It’s something about the way that I look at people; one of my guy friends still doesn’t like to look me in the eye and we’ve been friends for almost a decade, lol. Many people think that they are sneaky and fickle but I think that they are mysterious and selective: they can sense how a person is and THEY decide whether they want to deal with you or not. In a sense, that’s how I am.

If you could step into anybody’s shoes at this second who’s would it be?

Rachel Zoe. As hectic as her life is, I’m inspired by what she’s accomplished with her career. She’s traveled the world, influenced many, all while doing what she loves. I’d love to have a career like that (on a much smaller scale, of course).

If you could only listen to ONE song for the rest of your life, what would you choose?

Hmmm, probably Beyonce’s “Crazy In Love”. I can dance to it and sing along with it so I’d keep myself entertained for hours!

Share one of your fave pictures of all times and tell us why you picked it?

This is a photo of me and my younger cousin Stanley. He is one of my most favorite people in the world. We have our own little inside jokes and whenever we hang out, I know that I will laugh until I cry at least once during that time. We used to always go to Target together (he’s away at college so we can’t now *tear*) and on this day we were on the hunt for sunglasses that made us look like a pair of badass cops, lol. We have a pretty big age gap (almost 13 yrs) but he’s wise beyond his years and so smart and funny. We discuss music, movies, culture, dating, everything. We always have a blast together.
