La Vie en Rose: Interview with Vie the Girlie Fash Blogger who lives in Paradise.

La semaine dernier we met Miss Glitter and Pearl a sparkle of fun from Florida... Yeah that's right ya'll Miami bitch*s. This week we go even further afield to a meet up with a total sweetheart living in Paradise, I'll let her tell you about that... (Note: beyond jel.)

Today we will be getting a little more personal with  Mademoiselle Vie from Vie Couture a super girlie site full of all the latest trends from fashion, jewelery to beauty. Think Cute-Attack mixed with Sweet-a-Sauraus-Rex. Her writing is totes professional and she is always on the mark of what's new/latest trends, a very useful source!

I met Vie a while back when I did a guest blog for her fab site, we instantly hit it off, which to be quite honest is not too hard with Vie as she is totally open, kind and fun and you just "have to be" and "want to be" this girls chum. Ever since our first encounter we have remained in touch and today we tweet/facebook on the regular, she is always super kind and caring and her positive energy radiates through the interweb... She also LOVES to belly dance.

1. Where do you currently live (City)? Who do you share your home with? (Pic)

I live in paradise island Bali for almost 4 years now. I live with my husband, a 4-year-old silly German Shepherd, 2 Koi fish, 1 big gecko and other countless garden animals including frogs and little lizards that I finally have become friends with!

2. Where would be your dream place to live?

Anywhere close to the beach and not too far from the mountain! I’m done living in big cities. It’s time to go back to the nature.

3. What made you decide to start blogging?

Well my hubby introduced me to blogging because he started his own blog about 1 year before he met me and he told me all good stories about it. At first I was skeptical but after a while I got curious so I decided to give it a try and there’s no turning back after that. I love fashion and I love finding new things and share them with people who have similar style/interest with me.

4. Like me your an early 30s girl, how did the leap into the new decade go and what are your thoughts on this age bracket when compared to the previous?

Honestly, I don’t feel any difference at all. But if I may say that life surely starts when you turn 30! Last year (I’m 31 now) I got a skateboard for my birthday and I’ve always wanted to learn how to ride it so that’s when I started! I was definitely 13 going on 30. I don’t get bothered by this whole “growing-old” thing. I’m just enjoying my life!

5. How many pairs of shoes/boots do you own?

Well since I’m more of a bag than a shoe kinda girl, I don’t have that many, only 13 pairs I think, excluding my sneakers and flip-flops though ;)

6. What is your favorite item in your wardrobe at the minute?

I would say my black short jeans from Guess. I got it about a month ago and I wear it almost everyday! I just love Guess jeans, they make my butt looks so nice! Hahaha…

7. What are your top 3 makeup most haves?

Eyeliner, blush and gloss!

 Satirical Style Questions:

8. Name a character from a book or film that you admire and thought I WANT TO BE YOU!!

I’m a sucker for a strong-independent girl that kicks butt. So my current choice goes to Hanna. I love this movie and I wish I was trained when I was her age. That would be so awesome!

9. What would you change about your appearance?

I wouldn’t change anything about my appearance, although I wouldn’t mind to be a few inches taller and that my hair grows faster ;)

10. If you could step into anybody's shoes for a day, right now... Who would they belong to?

Sonia Ochoa. She’s my favorite belly dancer and I’d love to be able to dance as gracefully and beautifully as she does!

11. Did you ever wish for a different name?

At one period of my life, yes. My name is Selvie and my French teacher always teased me with it, because sel = salt and vie = life and he would call me salty all the time. I hated it so that’s why I decided to just call myself Vie from that moment on - now. It sounded better anyway ;)

12. What is your zodiak sign and do you feel connected with it?

I’m a Capricorn and sometimes I do feel like a mountain-goat and it's not so baaaaaad ;)

13. Do you have any phobias? Explain what happens when you come face to face with it?

I’d say total darkness because my mind tends to play tricks on me. When I come face to face with it, I’ll just yell “Honey, where the heck is the flashlight?” ;)

14. When it comes to underwear what comes first; Looking hot or feeling comfortable?

If it’s possible, can I have it both ways? Hehe.. Well, I’d definitely go for the feeling comfortable (which is constantly complained by my husband ;)

15. Share a happy childhood memory...

Growing up, my parents were workaholics and they barely had time for my siblings and me. One day (I think I was either 7 or 8), out of the blue, my dad decided to skip work and took me to town for some “field trip” and we stopped by the fruit market on the way home. I remember we bought this huge watermelon and I was so excited because I got to choose it. It was one of the happiest times in my childhood memory, fruit shopping with my dad. Now every time I look at watermelons, I remember that particular day. I missed him! (he died in 2002).

Eeek how cute is Miss Vie? Serious girl crush alert! Maybe one day I can go visit and she will introduce me to her lizard and frog mates, I seriously love these little creatures, that would be too much fun. Sending a big thanks to my beaut girl and of course a shed load of kisses, make sure you check out Vie Couture... Vie is hosting an interview avec moi on her site, so be sure to check it (click here) xoxo

Note: How much do we love this bloggers French title? I won't even pretend that Edith Piaf wasn't running through my head throughout the whole time it took me to write this up.

"Quand Il Me Prend Dans Ses Bras,  Il Me Parle Tout Bas, Je Vois La Vie En Rose..."
