I love that today is Thursday but it's actually really Friday, well it's not but it is, you know? It's holiday time innit? And I am certainly giving myself a few days off to enjoy a restful elongated weekend.
Today I feel like discussing thoughts & so on as there have been a number of bits & pieces that I have wanted to discuss but they are all quite bitty & not worth a whole post, or possibly they are but let's just go this way.
First things first, at the full-front of my mind is what a crazed b*atch I am today! Total histeria-mania. When I call myself a b*atch I don't mean that I'm being nasty or anything, just that I'm feeling a little nuts, I blame the 2 strong coffees I recently consumed for bringing things to the surface. Oh well, I will probably follow this post with a lie down & push it all back down.
1st Thought - Choc-o-lot
With the Easter hols around the corner, I have been thinking of chocs quite a lot (rhymes). In fact I have been desperately craving the stuff all week, I keep forgetting to buy any & then finding myself stuck, it has been a repetitive cycle, I blame the fag quitting.
Hotel Chocolat is defs my fave when it comes to chocs... This pack of a dozen Quail Eggs is no doubt the one for me.
Description includes: "Truffles filled with mango creme brulee, coffee, salted caramel, pralines and more." Yes, yes, yes.... Sounds amaze. Easter bunny?
2nd Thought - Hottie on the Loose
What HAD been on my mind, was the news that Gorge-a-saurus Gosling was back on the market! I wanted to have a little ponder about who was gonna be his follow up girl, however, now I hear he's been canoodling with some German mod, not even a celeb that we can know & judge, how dull. Let's hope it's just a phase & he'll be flirting with the A list soon...

3rd Thought - Book Club
Last night I finished reading A Partisan's Daughter by Louis de Bernières. This was a surprisingly nice read, that sort of snuck up on me... I didn't realise I was enjoying it until it was almost over. It was one of those poignant reads where everything seems significant, filled with subliminal messages...
Here are a couple of lines (of many) that had me fold the page corner to mark.
"Now that I'm old I just wish I'd been more of a rake when I was young. I wish I'd just followed my balls into battle, instead of sitting about thinking of reasons not to take risks and make memorable mistakes." p146
"It works like this: you don't get a visa without a work permit, and you don't get a work permit without a visa, and you don't get either of them without a job, and you don't get a job without both of them. It's simple." p163
4th Thought - Layered Nails
I came across some nail-spiration on fellow blogger: Ciao Bella's site, she introduced a layering concept which I had never thought of.
The idea being that you apply a coat of glitter polish between two coats of Red.
I had a go & it turned out quite nicely... The pics do not really show the effect properly, photographing glitter is really tricky - something I am yet to master.
5th Thought - A Satisfied Hunger
There is more than likely a quicker-witted pun but I am basically suggesting that I watched The Hunger Games and thought it was FAB. Did you get that?
It is great when an amazing book is matched by a successful Hollywoodised interpretation. I had made certain that I didn't ruin the film by watching any trailers or snooping on IMDB, it was impossible to avoid Jennifer Lawrence as Katniss Everdeen but other than that I went into the film with just the book in mind.
Fun makeup & costumes, great set blah blah but what really struck were 2...(3) things.
1. I kept thinking how fun it would be to go & watch this without having read the book & with no idea of the story.
2. Lenny Kravitz & Woody Harrelson. Totally unexpected eye-candy. I really enjoyed not knowing, followed by watching these boys...
If you've not seen it, go watch it!
