Real Techniques Brush Review/Tutorial with the Yummy Mummy Beauty Blogger

Hey sweet-stuff, hope your week has passed by nicely. I'm a little nuts today... Encore?? Oui encore.

Nuts, nuts, crazy... Another day with an unhinged mind. I blame a few things... These are the ones I'm happy to share:

- Non-Smoking - having a total crave day... week.
- PMT - a bad case
- Boredom

Anyway onto the main topic de jour: Real Techniques Brushes!

On Tuesday I shared my recent no-smoking purchases which included a mini makeup brush haul (see: Forget Fags - I want things). I picked up a load of brushes & some contour powder with no idea of how to use them. This was no naive impulsive spend, I had already spoken to my gal-pal Holly who had promised that if I bought the items she would teach me how to use them.

The main application processes I wanted to learn were:

- Buffing on my foundation
- Contouring

After buying the brushes I felt it would be a good idea to make a video capturing this. As I know I am not alone in loving makeup and wanting to know how to apply it in the best way. I feel that there are a number of techniques that are completely alien to a whole load of beauty lovers... We want to learn! So I decided to ask Holly to take "US" back to basics and of course she agreed (because she is amaze!)

Another reason for filming this is for my own benefit as I can re-watch it. After all there was a lot to cover & an equal amount to quickly forget. My plan is to master my base and in due course I'll start implementing the other techniques shared (such as the eye definition brushes.)

I ended up cutting this down to two vids, the first covers The Core Collection & Powder Brush and the second the Eye Definition Starter Set.

Note: Excuse my ghastly appearance! This is me sans makeup, a sight for sore eyes for sure. However, I think the makeup process throughout the vid really shows the difference makeup can make. God bless the beauty industry!

First Impressions:

Really affordable and super soft! Not so keen on the packaging and the cases will be going straight in the bin, however, I didn't buy them for the cases or appearance and at such a reasonable price I am happy, happy! (Oh and don't forget amaze 3 for 2 offer at Boots.)

Fave Brushes:

- Buffing brush
- Deluxe Crease Brush
- Powder Brush
- Eyebrow Brush

Worst Brush:

Ha ha what a negative title I chose... The most disappointing brush was the contour brush. This is because I was really excited to get this but it is more of a highlighter brush and not big enough for a simple contour application. Meaning that I will invest in a bigger contour brush & use this for highlighting, so it's not all bad.

Really hope you find this useful! Would love to hear your thoughts xoxo
