Fringe Benefits

Ha, I only used this title as it came to mind prior to the fringe rant which is about to take place. Maybe I should have named it: To fringe or not to fringe... After all that is the question.

OK, so let's start with a quick hair re-cap, I'll try to stay brief & relevant.

As a little girl I was never seen sans fringe..

It was only when I was permitted creative control that I quickly grew her out. After this there was a range of horrendous messes through my teen years, followed by long hair with a side fringe or simply long hair.

In 2007 I returned to my block fringe, since then I have gone through the following process:

- Blunt fringe cut
- Grow out to a side fringe
- Blunt fringe cut

(Girls with fringes you know the process.)

Aside of course for my petite slip up, in the shape of a Brittney moment, when I chopped it all off... Gulp. (See: Chop Chop)

Today's Hair

In the last 6 months or so I have been dedicated to growing out my fringe completely, working towards one length. The fringe is more than half-way there but my dedication is wavering.

Here's why:

- First and foremost my goddamn baby fringe, that awful section of fluffy hair that stays at an awkward length and sometimes creates an apparition of a receding hairline. Yes, seriously. I am told that you can't see it... blah... but maybe my friends are too kind?

- I am getting a little bored & feel that it's looking a little drab, my hair is quite thin (although there is a lot of these thin strands) so I worry that it looks lank and scraggy.

So, the question... Should I cut a fringe back in or persevere with the growing???

What do you prefer fringe or no fringe?

If you have the time, leave a comment below and let me know what you think, would love to hear your opinions. Hope ya'll have a fab weekend xoxo

Hard one! But I say no fringe. But then I like your blunt fringe, hmmm what would the kardashians do?? I say leave it long x

Thanks Sar, I do feel that if I cut I might really regret it as I have had the fringe for so many years and not had all one length in forever… Hmmm… I have no idea what the Kardashians would say??! Probably extensions? xoxo

      • Sarahzthorpe

Leave it long, if you want change, one length is a big change! Learn different hair styles . K’dashes don’t do bangs grrrrlfriend xxxx

You’re right on that, I don’t know if i’ve ever reached the one length stage… Hmmm? Don’t Kourtney and Khloe have bangs?? xoxo

am totes having the same dilemma! going from fringe to side fringe back to full back to side! not sure whether to take the plunge & have a full styled side fringe….. argh decisions, decisions. either is a win win as you look all grown up in a late 20s these are the friends years way (as in TV show friends years style) and then with the fringe you look all kooky in a zooey deschanel way! oooh tough one, good luck!

This fringe is really a global issue, non? I love your full fringe but I think it’s time you went for a side now that your hair is shorter. You should side it and if all goes wrong, chopping in a front fringe will be easy peasy! As for me I think I need to give it a few days before making a decision… xoxo

I think you look fab with or without, but if your itching for a change then go for it! New hair, new you! If your anything like me, you won’t get the idea out of your head until you do it…

Always love your bangs, maybe blunt and long!
But enjoying the site of you with no bangs for the moment,, it’s fresh.
    A hard choice, yes!
Your childhood photos are so cute. My adorable 5 year old niece is resembling them a bit, she’s a Leo too!

I’m going through the same ‘dilemma’ at the moment! I’ve grown my fringe out so far now that I think I’m sticking with it but I still get envious when I see other girls with fringes! I’m pretty bored of my hair at the moment too as it’s just hit my shoulders and looks super dull! You look beautiful either way (which I know is no use in terms of advice!). Corinne x

Ahh thanks for your kind words! Sounds like we are the exact same place… It’s so silly you plan to do one thing, but hair takes SO long to grow that you get bored and impulse gets in the way. Thanks foe stopping by xoxo

Les deux te vont très bien! Mais j’ai quand même une petite préférence pour la frange.

  • Camryn

Love the fringe. You look great both ways, but bangs are always fun.
