Nailgenius was our winner with her gorgeous textured/sparkly/pastel coloured design. A N.A.I.L G.E.N.I.U.S for sure.
Both of the designs she entered were my top 2 faves, so in that respect it was an easy choice. That is not to say that the competition was EASY, as it really wasn't, it seems that this Nailgenius-gal has a way of putting together designs that appeal directly to my personal nail-taste. The feedback following the winner's announcement suggested that I was not alone on this...

Meet Nailgenius
Hi everyone! I would like to explain a little about myself. I’m 29 years old and live in sunny California with my boyfriend and two adorable kitties. I enjoy art, cats, and of course painting my nails. I became interested in nail art when I stumbled upon it searching the web. I don’t even remember what I was searching for but I came across some pictures of cute designs on nails. And being the artistic person I am I decided to give it a try. I ended up becoming completely obsessed with the nail art aspect. I researched new and innovative ways to paint nails and I just fell in love. I think what I like most about nail art is that there is no right or wrong. If you can get your nails to look the way you like it then that’s all that matters. I can admit that it’s not everyone’s cup of tea, but it’s definitely mine!
Most of my inspiration comes from fashion, blogs, youtube, Pinterest and just searching nail designs in general. If I see a skirt or dress or scarf that has a really cool pattern or look to it, I’ll attempt to incorporate those elements into my nail designs. There is a large community out there of nail art and I just love being a part of it!
People always ask me how do you paint with your non-‐dominant hand? I always try my nail designs using my non-‐dominant hand first. Over time I’ve gotten really good at it. It’s true, practice really does make perfect!
I’m so happy I won the Model’s Own Nail art competition by The Satirical Stylist! She is amazing. The nail polishes are so amazing! I hope you all enjoy the design I came up with! The competition was tough and I am glad I was part of it!

Getting to know Nailgenius - In true Satirical Style I had a couple of pressing questions for this Nail Genius.
If you could be a fly on any wall throughout history where would it be?
If I could be a fly on any wall throughout history it would be on the wall of Salvador Dali’s art studio while he painted The Persistence of Memory . I would love to see him paint any of his paintings really. I really need to try a nail design using one of his works.
If you were an animal what would you be?
A cat! I love cats! They have so much personality plus who wouldn’t want to sleep and eat all day? Here are my cats Tick and Missy.
If you could only wear ONE polish from now until eternity what would you pick?
I think it would have to be the Jade Snow White, because then at least I could doodle on the little white canvases!
