My quick little comp is over. S.t.o.p t.h.e c.l.o.ck. It seriously ran by, can't quite believe it. I HAVE A WINNER but before we get into that, I want to share with you the really amaze entries that were sent in.
The entry guidelines I sent for this comp were as follows:
"If you would like to win this prize all you have to do is email me over a picture of something that is significant to you, this could be a place, dream, memory anything that feels personal and makes you tick... Get it?"
Not the easiest of entries but it was relevant to my move and I wanted for us to communicate a little and reflect on what is important to us and what is significant to others. The entries did not come in thick and fast, instead they were slow drips of gorgeous quality and substance. I have provided all the entries along with the why's and whats, I hope you will agree that there is a fabulous mix of great answers!
"Okay so after pondering for a while on a place that holds some meaning & is significant to moi, it finally came to me! Harrods in London! Haha! I know it may seem a bit of an odd one, but I LOVE going to London & try to visit the city as often as I can & explore a different part of it each time. However there is one stop that my friend & I ALWAYS make when we come to London without fail & that is Harrods!I don't think I'll ever tire of the place! I just adore exploring the many different halls within, the Aladdin's Cave that is the food halls that are filled with the yummiest sights these eyes have ever seen, to the gorgeous jewellery, bags & of course my favorite...the makeup halls where I could spend hours!
We also always stop for a little treat when there, it could be a yummy ice cream sundae at the parlor or a spot of tea in the tea rooms
Definitely making each visit worth while
"
This is my beautiful boyfriend. we've never lived in the same city and for the moment, we aren't even living in the same country. although, we always tend to get cheap tickets to visit each other and when we're on skype, the internet connection is always really good. in other words, we're really lucky. and i'm especially lucky because he always lets me try out new manicure styles on him. i call the style on the picture "disco nails".
"I went to a festival in Europe and had an amazingly wild and hedonistic few days - this photo was taken the last morning when everyone else had left the festival camp with all their camping stuff still there. So ensued the next few hours of entertainment complete and utter destruction of everything in that campsite. I just love how completely free of responsibility, expectation and restriction this photo is."
"I thought I'd submit a picture of my dog; he is definitely the most significant thing in my life. Since rooting for the underdog and adopting a pitbull from a rescue (who are illegal in Ontario since 2005), this has been my least selfish act to date. Working through issues he's had due to a prior crappy life including endless trips to the pound, and being beaten amongst other things, we've worked through an extreme fear of dogs, horrible separation anxiety and just a general retraining of a breed that has a bad rap. Scout is now a complete ham, the most obedient and trust worthy dog (stuffonscoutshead.com) and I think this journey along the way has been for both of us, although he boasts most of the visible benefits haha"
"A wild yet carefully tendered garden on 10 acres in a city nestled in the mountains of Australia. Rows and Rows of wildflowers sit between quirky wooden carts and swings hang by rope from mighty trees, evoking feelings of nostalgia. This is also the garden where I grew up & where my family still live. I have lived far away from Australia in Osaka & London but this is always the place that is closest to my heart."
"I love a lot of things; Toronto, Brooklyn, my kitty cat, friends, summerdays etc. But I chose this photo because it's an old one of my grandma putting fake lipstick on me, it's so nice because she really looks like she's acting like it's real lipstick!!! She was just the best grandma in the world and I love her with my whole heart."
"I was racking my head over what's special to me because really, I just love everything! (Especially if they're sparkly haha) Browsing through my computer files and looking through pictures from the past couple years, I found that I truly find happiness in doing one thing -- travelling.
Travelling is my absolute passion. In this collage I have for my entry, I have included pictures of places that I had only been recently at for the first time in my life. Those are really exciting and unforgettable experiences that I will never forget, ever!Especially if you'd notice, my family's in the pictures and I never fail to have a great time with them (even though travelling with my Dad can be a pain in the ass -- he's so bossy! haha) So yes, getting to travel makes me tick! And I believe it does for you too

"This is a picture of a place that is significant to me, and is a dream of mine.
This picture is of a trail me and some of my family made with our four-wheelers on a farm just north of Houston. It is my getaway, my sanctuary, and a motivator. I would love to own my own ranch or farm where I could raise all the animals I wanted. When I come here, it just feels like I belong out there, and that it's what I'm supposed to do with my life.

"So this is a picture of me in my absolute favourite place in the world; Sennen beach, Cornwall, England(shock right?). This pic was taken from a wild three day trip me and a couple of my uni friends took - four of us sleeping in a car on the beachfront complete with my friend's dog. It was just after I'd quit uni and though most people would think of that as a lost/scary point of their lives for me the picture marks the start of a really fun summer spent with some of the best people I know. Even if it wasn't in the right country."
"I'm sure a lot of people will probably send pictures with their significant other, but this is one of the most significant things to happen to me. I met Jamie over 2 and a half years ago, not knowing he lived over 200miles away. I said that we should just be friends, because in my opinion long distance relationships just don't work. The picture I sent you is our first picture together, as actually being together. We have been together now for 2 years, and I moved to Portsmouth to be with him. This was the hardest thing, because I'm such a family person and I find it really hard only being able to see them every couple of months. I'm so glad I moved because I really couldn't live without him, and he proves to me that sometimes you have to go with your heart. Since this picture we've changed so much, but this one will always be so significant to me."
"Here is a pic of my friend Emma and I at our A-Level leavers ball. I love this pic because it symbolises the end of an era (my childhood/school days) when me and all my friends finished our exams, left school forever and went off to Uni - the next chapter in our lives. Me and Emma are still great friends even though she went off to live in Leeds and never returned to Leics! For some reason this is the only pic I have from that night!? Such a shame, no idea where all the others went so it's very cherished, albeit not that flattering lol!"
"This scene the The Sandlot means a lot to me. It's my childhood because like Smalls, I moved to a completely different place and met the people I will be friends with forever."
"I have attached a picture for this amaze give away reflecting the happiest me in life. Which is when I'm home enjoying the beautiful county that I am lucky enough to live in, exploring the many Cornish beaches and countryside views from horse back....that is when I am most relaxed and completely in my element! (I am really missing my horse Ebony Rose now though *sad face*)"
"Besides polishes I also have a big place in my heart for trollbeads. All my trollbeads have a special meaning for me. Most of them where given to me by my sweet husband."
"That white puppy was my neighbor's. My dog Darius can be a loner sometimes, he doesn't like to make initial moves to other dogs. So every morning, J.Co (the puppy) will wait in front of our gate, because he knows that's the time I would take Darius out. He was waiting for him to go play together at the rice field next to our house. They were best friends for a while until somebody poisoned J.Co. I can see that Darius was depressed, heck, I was, too! He was such a sweet puppy, I cannot understand how somebody could have the heart to do this kind of thing.
Anyway, I thought this picture would make a good memory of sweet J.Co, a puppy that actually changed Darius' life
"
And the Winner is...
Ah man! Lovely, non? It all makes me a little emotional, maybe it's my impending move or the gorge words of others but there is certainly something in the water. There can only be winner and the winner is:
Natalie Peploe
Et voila! That is all. Thanks to everyone who entered, sending love & kisses to you all xoxo
